I've recently come across the spice Asafoetida and thought I would try it in some dishes as a replacement to the onion flavour. It seems to work really well and my family have no idea that there is anything amiss...like onions... in any of the meals I've made using it. This yummy Low Fodmap Roasted Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup is just one such example!

Low Fodmap Courgette and Bacon Gremolata
I'd not actually heard of Gremolata until recently. If anyone else hadn't either, it's a mix of parsley, lemon zest and garlic. Their fresh, bright and zingy flavours add an extra dimension to the dish.
Garlic is generally a no, no for the Low Fodmap diet so in this recipe, I have just added one whole clove during cooking for the taste and then fished it out before serving :-)!

Low Fodmap Parsnip and Ginger Soup
It is soup season.
I love making them. They are always so tasty for such little effort....and it is cold out there. Brrr.
A warm hearty Low Fodmap, IBS friendly soup is just the ticket.
Parsnip and ginger is a great combination as the ginger lightly spices the soup creating a perfect winter dish.
